This place look alright…

So it is decided… we will stay in Yeppoon until Thursday. I would call it sunny Yeppoon, as the days have been fantastic, but I awoke again this morning and it has bucketed down overnight. Water everywhere! Luckily some smart person has moved our clothes line in under the annex (wasn’t me I was fast asleep) because we are going to need our bathers today for our cruise and snorkelling around Keppel Islands!

That’s right, we have a day on the water. Booked yesterday on a Catamaran for a full day cruising around the islands. We chose this boat as they provide everything including lunch, and from what the lady at the Big 4 reception said, there is no use going to Keppel island itself since the resort closed down years ago (something I wasn’t aware of!).

So once our cruise was booked, we put a load of washing (or two or three) through and headed into town for supplies. I needed clippers if I was going snorkelling as the beard was looking a bit shabby, Mark needed a universal remote for the caravan TV (apparently the old one didn’t like being dropped in water!), and we needed a few other bits and pieces. Ended up having lunch in the food court (Kebabs Yum!) then we went in search of the RipCurl surf shop so we could get a rashy for Mark and Fiona (got to be sunsmart!) The shop must have loved us, as Mark got one, I got one, Fi got one and Kate got one!! Kate, Fi and I also all bought new comfortable thongs… for our feet that is!!

Shopping done, we headed back to camp for a swim. The water was chilly, but everyone got in for a dip. Wasn’t too bad once you were in. I asked at reception if they could turn the waterslide on, but unfortunately the guy that supervises it had just gone on the bin run, and it was too late by the time he got back.

Anyway, only a short blog today as I must start getting everyone up and ready so we can be at the mariner by 8am. Will be 5pm by the time we get back, so should be a great day snorkelling!! Pity both Mark and I forgot out underwater housings!!!!
