After a long CoVid lockdown in Victoria we were excited to finally be allowed to head out camping, but our excitement is short lived when our companions fail to make it to Licola on time. With no phone reception T & Me head up the mountain alone and without the others for the night…

Just prior to Melbourne returning to lockdown we managed a sneaky day trip in search of snow. Finding no snow on Mt Margaret we took the long winding road to Matlock before finding what we were looking for on Mt Selma.

Still pumped from our day in Strathbogie and warming our bones from another freezing night (only -2 degrees this time) we head out to Paradise Falls so Steve can see them in their glory, then hit the tracks for a deep crossing of the King River. After a cold night in Violet Town (-3 degrees!!) we head up into the Strathbogie ranges in search of the Sandy Creek Waterfall and are rewarded with a spectacular visage at Golden Mountain Lookout.

Someone said to me we should spend a day at Craig’s Hut and next thing you know a convoy was happening and a day in the snow planned. Awesome day!!

As Victoria comes out of the Corona Virus restrictions, we sneak up to Violet Town for a weekend and revisit Paradise Falls… will there be water??
