Last day at Inverloch

Posted by on January 27, 2013

Last day today and thankfully the weather has turned out sensational 🙂

Not so last night, was just after we started cooking that the rain started and we all madly pushed our chairs into any cover we could find. Most of us ended up eating standing up!

Happened again just before bed (granted it was about 12:30 and we probably should have been in bed!) and while it wasn’t heavy, it was very very thick, and everything was soaked in seconds. Didn’t stop Zac who was blissfully unaware in his Swag. Good to know they are waterproof before I sleep in mine in the rain!

Anyway, we woke this morning to sunshine, and the weather has really turned it on for us today. After a fantastic breakfast of scrambled eggs, bacon and sausages, we all headed off to the local farmers market.

Had a ball in the petting zoo where I became very friendly with a rat 🙂 reminded me of my favorite rat in the pet shop as it ran over my shoulders, arms and hands. Zac and I have already decieded that we are getting a Rat pet when we get home…. Fi agreed but may regret that before long!

While we didn’t win the boat in the Rotary raffle, we did run into the Harmen family (friends from School and Kinder) who had a wine stall at the market. After a few tastings, we just had to take a few bottles which I’m sure will go down very well 🙂

Got lots of photo’s, but they are on my iPhone (and Fi’s) so I will post them shortly in another post.

The afternoon was spent at the beach, where for something different I built a sandcastle… Tara was my helper today and did a great job of both adding little sandcastles and scaring off all the kids who tried to knock it down… she can be really scary when she wants to be!

Matty was so tempted to kick the castle over, so just before he left I picked him up and dropped him on the top of the volcano, which gave all the kids the go ahead to smash everything in sight!

Anyway, we headed back to camp just in time for Beer O’Clock, and started to clean out the last the cheese platters as unfortunately we have to go home tomorrow 🙁 As I write, Anthony is running us through the Trivia for the day.

Hopefully the rain stays away, so we don’t have a wet packup in the morning. Been a great trip, and the good news is, only a month until we head back here for the Morton annual trip in February.
